Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 10, 2026

Lowenna Health Inc. is committed to protecting your privacy with discretion and care. As a Nurse Practitioner led practice providing women’s health, medical weight management, and medical aesthetic services in Alberta, Lowenna Health operates as a custodian under the Health Information Act (“HIA”) and complies with its requirements respecting the collection, use, disclosure, and safeguarding of health information.

What We Collect and Why

We collect personal and health information directly from you to provide safe, individualized care: assessing your suitability for treatment, providing services in person and by virtual care, maintaining clinical records, arranging appointments, referrals, and laboratory services, processing payments, and meeting legal and regulatory requirements. This may include your name, contact details, medical history, treatment records, and clinical photographs. We limit collection to what is reasonably necessary for these purposes.

How We Use and Share Your Information

Your health information is used only for the purposes for which it was collected, or as otherwise permitted or required under the HIA. It may be shared with regulated health professionals involved in your care, such as pharmacies, laboratories, and specialists, with the secure service providers that support our practice under strict confidentiality obligations, or where required by law. We do not sell, trade, or disclose your health information for marketing purposes, and clinical photographs are never used on our website, social media, or promotional materials without your separate express written consent, which you may withdraw at any time for future use.

AI-Assisted Documentation

We use an AI-assisted documentation tool within our electronic medical record system to help prepare clinical notes. The Nurse Practitioner reviews and approves all documentation before it becomes part of your health record. We do not allow your health information to be used to train AI models.

Virtual Care and Patients Outside Alberta

We provide virtual care to patients located in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. Wherever you are located, your health information is stored in Canada and managed under Alberta’s Health Information Act.

Our Systems and Safeguards

Clinical records are managed in Juvonno, a secure electronic medical record system, with all data stored in Canada. Payments are handled by secure payment processors, and clinical documents are sent and received through a secure fax service. We protect health information with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption, multi-factor authentication, and access controls, and records are retained in accordance with professional regulatory requirements and Alberta legislation, then securely destroyed when no longer required.

Our Website

Our website does not collect or store health information. Online booking and intake forms are provided through our secure Juvonno patient portal, and information you submit there is handled as described in this policy. Please do not include health information in a general website contact message or email; for anything related to your care, use the patient portal or call us.

When you visit our website, limited technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and general usage data) may be collected automatically to maintain site security and performance. Our website may use cookies to enhance functionality, and you may adjust your browser settings to decline cookies if preferred. No advertising tracking operates on our booking or intake pages.

Your Rights

Under the Health Information Act, you have the right to request access to your health information and to request correction of factual errors. Requests must be made in writing, and we will respond in accordance with legislative timelines and requirements.
